Culinary Software Services Kicks Off 10th Anniversary
Makers of ChefTec Software Taking Foodservice Software Into 21st Century
BOULDER, Colo. - Jan. 31, 2000 — With a nod to past accomplishments, and an eye towards the future, Culinary Software Services, Inc. commenced its tenth anniversary year, celebrating tremendous growth and a continued commitment to providing software solutions to foodservice operations.
Founded in 1990, the Colorado based company designed its original product, Escoffier Software, a DOS-based system named after the famed French chef, Auguste Escoffier, to apply sophisticated restaurant management techniques in an easy to use format.
"In those days only about 40 percent of independently owned restaurants were computerized," explains Brian Bennett, president of Culinary Software Services. "The challenge for us at first was as much about educating operators on the need for computers to stay competitive in their marketplace, as it was selling them on the advantages of our products. Now our market is much more sophisticated regarding the uses of computer technology in their operations, " Bennett continued. "The foodservice industry is in the midst of major enhancements in the use of computers and especially the internet to streamline management, aid communications, and improve food costs. With ChefTec and ChefTec Plus we are poised to help our customers take advantage of these developments to their fullest potential."
Recent accomplishments for the company include double digit growth in each of the last four years. ChefTec was also awarded the Innovator's Award for foodservice technology in both 1998 and 1999. Culinary Software Services continues to expand its customer base into increasing numbers of multi-unit operations, and ChefTec software is featured in an increasing number of professional culinary training programs throughout the US.
