ChefTec PDA BarCoder Demonstrated at FS/TEC in Dallas

Scanner Demonstrated at Booth #638

BOULDER, Colo. - Oct. 9, 2001 — Culinary Software Services will demonstrate ChefTec PDA BarCoder at booth #638 at FS/TEC in Dallas October 22 to October 24, 2001 despite expectations of low attendance.

“We have tried to get back to business as usual,” said Brian Bennett, President of Culinary Software Services. “After the terrorist acts we were not sure if the trade show would even be held. I think it's great that FS/ TEC isn't going to be cancelled. CSS wants to go to Dallas to show off our new product. ChefTec PDA BarCoder is a really exciting product and FS/ TEC is a great forum for demonstrating new technology to the foodservice industry.”

ChefTec PDA BarCoder was officially released September 15th, 2001. It works with the Symbol SPT 1500 scanner handheld computer, which allows foodservice professionals to scan physical inventory items for physical inventory taking and on-the-fly ordering.

"Due to customer demand we created barcode software so operators can scan their inventory, making data entry even faster. Users can scan a product's bar code and the inventory item will automatically appear in the PDA software on the Palm," said Bennett.

With the ChefTec PDA BarCoder there are two options for using barcodes. From within ChefTec, users can create unique barcodes on labels and place the labels on the shelves where inventory is kept. The other option is scanning the food purveyors' barcodes that come on their inventory.

Using the ChefTec PDA BarCoder helps users take inventory and create orders in a fast, easy and accurate manner. The BarCoder cuts physical inventory time by 50%.
