Recipe Writing on the Go – the Portable Tool for Chefs

Culinary Software Services releases latest ChefTec PDA module

BOULDER, Colo. - Nov. 6, 2001 — Culinary Software Services has created a chef's dream: ChefTec PDA software for writing and displaying recipes on a Palm OS handheld computer. We all know chefs who write recipes on napkins, beer mats and the backs of their hands. ChefTec PDA Recipes was created for that busy chef. No more looking for a pen and paper or trying to mentally file away a new recipe idea. ChefTec PDA Recipes is also useful for corporate chefs who need their recipes in a test kitchen.

Used in conjunction with ChefTec, a chef can write recipes on the desktop and download them to the Palm or they can write recipes on the Palm and upload new recipes to the desktop. ChefTec PDA Recipes is completely integrated with ChefTec on the desktop. The same easy-to-use features such as ingredient dropdown lists are available in ChefTec PDA Recipes.

“We talk to a lot of chefs to get their feedback about the Palm,” said Brian Bennett, President of Culinary Software Services. “Chefs tell us they need a mobile solution to display and write recipes. In fact, we talked to Darden Restaurants to find out their needs on a handheld unit and we used that information in the development of the recipe module.”

ChefTec PDA Recipes (REC) is part of the ChefTec PDA modular system. Along with the recipe module is a module for taking Physical Inventory (PIT) and one for Ordering (ORD). The ChefTec PDA Recipes module will be demonstrated at the IH/MRS trade show in New York November 10-13 at booth #7536. ChefTec PDA Recipes is on sale until November 16, 2001.
