CHEFTEC PDA FOR WINDOWS 2000 AND PALM HANDHELDS

Culinary Software Services offers enhanced PDA software for ChefTec program

BOULDER, Colo. - July 23, 2001 — Culinary Software Services, Inc. has released its latest upgrade to the ChefTec PDA line. ChefTec PDA for Windows 2000, enables users on the Windows 2000 operating system to take advantage of ChefTec PDA.

“With the Windows 2000 platform came additional communication challenges when performing a HotSync® operation to a Palm™ handheld computer. The release of ChefTec PDA for Windows 2000 adds one more platform on which our PDA software runs,” said Brian Bennett, President of Culinary Software Services.

Along with ChefTec PDA for Windows 2000, Version 5 of ChefTec PDA has been re-written from the ground up to provide phenomenal performance improvements. Customers with Version 4 will see a 66% improvement in transfer/update time where large inventories are maintained.

Physical inventory taking is a necessary, but painful process whereby operators may spend hours with paper and pen in hand counting shelves of items. ChefTec PDA cuts paperwork in half by allowing operators to take inventory and create orders while moving about their operation. Instead of double data entry, by counting items on paper and then entering them into a computer, operators enter counts into ChefTec PDA and then syncronize it directly into ChefTec on their desktop. Orders can be automatically generated without further data entry. This mobile solution is more efficient and economical than manual data entry, and with the low cost Palm handhelds available ChefTec PDA is a technological solution affordable to all operations.

ChefTec PDA is available on a variety of Palm handhelds, including color screen units which allow for easier visibility and greater efficiency in hard to see areas.
