Two Prentice Hall Titles to be Bundled with ChefTec Tutor
ChefTec Tutor Provides Culinary Students State of the Art Software Experience
PRINCETON, NJ - July 31, 2000 — Educational publisher Prentice Hall announced that they have signed a contract with Culinary Software Services, Inc to include ChefTec Tutor with the latest release of two culinary education classics, Food for Fifty and Foodservice Profitability.
ChefTec Tutor will accompany each book and will come preloaded with recipes from the book, offering opportunities for hands on experience with the software that is setting the standard in recipe and menu costing, inventory control, and nutritional analysis applications for the foodservice industry.
Food for Fifty, by Mary Molt, Ph.D, R.D., is in its eleventh edition, and is a culinary school mainstay, with recipes and essential principles for large scale cooking. Now in its second edition, Foodservice Profitability, by Edward E. Sanders and Timothy H. Hill, offers students a comprehensive guide for cost control practices in every aspect of foodservice, from inventory control to human resources. Food for Fifty is scheduled for release August 4th, and Foodservice Profitability will be released December 15th.
"Including ChefTec Tutor with these texts gives educators an invaluable tool for turning their students on to the possibilities for using technology in their culinary careers," explained David Garza, Vice President and Publisher. "We are thrilled to be able to offer this added value to the culinary and foodservice management programs using these texts."
Besides the preloaded recipes, ChefTec Tutor will include a sampling of the features found in ChefTec, the first 32-bit Windows 98/95/NT/2000 compatible recipe costing and inventory control product on the market. ChefTec is in place in a broad range of foodservice settings, from individual chefs to multi-unit restaurants, caterers, hotels, and culinary schools, and is designed to provide operations a competitive edge by tracking fluctuating food costs and directly comparing vendors' online prices. Other features in ChefTec include the ability to attach photographs and videos to recipes and inventory items, save recipes to HTML for distribution via the internet, plus comprehensive nutritional analysis functionality.
