ChefTec Version 6 Scheduled for First Quarter 2002 Release
Latest upgrade from the foodservice industry's leading back office software company
BOULDER, Colo. - Dec. 12, 2001 — Culinary Software Services will release Version 6 of its award winning ChefTec software in the first quarter of 2002. For over a decade Culinary Software Services has provided innovative and easy to use software for the foodservice professional. Version 6 builds on the extensive foundation of prior releases bringing many additions to ease the workload of chefs and foodservice operators.
A highlighted feature of ChefTec Version 6 is the multiple criteria search function. This function allows users to define searches by many different criteria including: categories, locations, author, active, saleable, sub recipes, and ingredients in recipes. As well, users can name searches (e.g. All Mushroom Appetizers) and save the search for later use. Another feature is the use of "Memory Lists". These allow users to speed type data when entering recipes saving users time and promoting consistency of data entry. A third feature is HACCP (Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Points) notes for inventory items. These HACCP notes can be printed on recipes for use in the kitchen. Having HACCP information at a chef's fingertips helps minimize hazardous risks and maintain sanitary conditions.
Additional enhancements include: a new "Period Food Cost" report, the ability to add sound to recipes, a global recipe costing feature, added user-defined data entry fields on an invoice, and a copy feature for inventory locations. ChefTec Version 6 works with CorTec and all of ChefTec PDA software, including BarCoder.
"We talk constantly with our customers to get feedback on what they want added to the software. I believe we have met their needs. A majority of the Version 6 development was based on this feedback," said Brian Bennett, President of Culinary Software Services.
Version 6 may be pre-ordered from Culinary Software Services during the Year End Sale through January 4th, 2002. Substantial discounts are available on ChefTec Software and also on ChefTec PDA software for Palm handhelds. Additional information and ordering may be found at www.culinarysoftware.com.
