Whole Foods Market Pilots CorTec Project
The world's largest natural organic foods supermarket begins CorTec pilot program
BOULDER, Colo- June 27, 2002 — Whole Foods Market has started a pilot program to evaluate CorTec Software for their Mid-Atlantic division. Whole Foods Market became a customer of Culinary Software Services at the beginning of 2002 with the purchase of ChefTec for their corporate office. Impressed with the functionality and ease-of-use in the areas of inventory control and recipe and menu costing Whole Foods Market recently upgraded to CorTec.
CorTec provides Whole Foods Market with the ability to communicate with remote locations. The initial phase of the pilot project is to use the software at the central commissary to track requisitions and transfers between the commissary and several sites. The longer-term plan is for each remote location to be set up as a ChefTec Plus Client connected to the CorTec Administrator at headquarters. Each location will order prepared foods from the commissary though CorTec and the resultant change in inventory levels at the transferring and receiving units will be automatically tracked. Recipes will be developed and maintained in CorTec to ensure consistency of product and for scaling and production purposes.
"Whole Foods Market runs a very large and impressive commissary operation," said Brian Bennett, President of Culinary Software Services, "We are pleased that they have chosen CorTec as the tool to automate their internal ordering process."
